Jesus disciples ask him about the sign of his coming.
Many will come saying "I am He!", "I am the Christ", "The time is near."[¹]
There will be wars and rumors of wars, don't be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.[²]
Nation will be against nation (Race against race), kingdom against kingdom, earthquakes in various places, and famines. This is only the beginning[³]
You will be handed over to the synagogues and prisons, to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all people, and you will stand before governors and kings on account of Jesus name, as a testimony to them.[⁴]
You will be arrested, and be handed over, don't worry about what to say, but say whatever is given you at that time; for you are not the ones speaking, but it is the Holy Spirit.[⁵]
You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, other relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death[⁶]
Many false prophets will rise up and mislead many. When lawlessness is increased, most people's love will become cold[⁷]
The gospel must first be preached to the whole world as a testimony to all the people, and then the end will come.[⁸]
You will be hated by everyone because of Jesus name. And yet not a hair of your head will perish, but the one who endures to the end who will be saved.[⁹]
When you see the Abomination of desolation (let the reader understand Daniel 9:27) in the holy place, then all of Judea must flee to the mountains. Whoever is on the housetop must not go down, or go in to get anything out of his house, and whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak because these are days of punishment, so that all things which have been written will be fulfilled.[¹⁰]
There will be difficulty to those women who are pregnant, and to those who are nursing babies in those days. For there will be great distress upon the land, and wrath to this people.[¹¹]
Moreover, pray that when you (All of Judea) flee, it will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.[¹²]
Those days will be such a time of tribulation as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will again.[¹³]
If the Lord had not shortened those days, no life would have been saved, but for the sake of the chosen people, He shortened the days.[¹⁴]
If anyone says "Look, here is the Christ" or "Look, there He is" do not believe it. False Christs and false prophets will arise, and will provide signs and wonders, in order to mislead, if possible the chosen people. Beware, Jesus warned about all of this in advance. If they say "Behold, He is in the wilderness" do not go out, and if they say "Behold, He is in the inner rooms" do not believe them.[¹⁵]
Just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will the coming of the Christ be. Wherever the corpse is, vultures will gather.[¹⁷]
Immediately after the tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.[¹⁸]
Then they will see Christ coming in clouds with great power and glory, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn.[¹⁹]
Then He will send forth angels with a great trumpet blast, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the end of the earth to the end of heaven.[²⁰]
One of the four living creatures say with a voice of thunder "Come!" and a White horse is seen, and the one who sat on it has a bow, and a crown is given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.[²¹]
The second living creature says "Come!" and a Red horse is seen, and the one who sat on it is granted to take peace from the earth, that people will kill one another, and a large sword was given to him.[²²]
The third living creature says "Come!" and a Black horse is seen, and the one who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. Something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures says "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not damage the oil and the wine."[²³]
The fourth living creature says "Come!" and a Ashen horse is seen, and the one who sat on it had the name Death, and Hades was following him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with a sword, and famine, and plague (Death), and by the wild animals of the earth.[²⁴]
Underneath the altar the souls of those who had been killed because of the word of God, and the testimony which they had maintained, and they cried out with a loud voice saying "How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who live on the earth?" and a white robe was given to each of them, and they were told that they were to rest a little while longer until the number of their servants and brothers and sisters who were to be killed.[²⁵]
There was a great earthquake, the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood, the stars fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. Then the kings of the earth and the eminent people, and the commanders and the wealthy and the strong, and every slave and free person hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, and they said to the mountains and the rocks "Fall on us and hide us from the sight of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb for the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"[²⁶]
There was silence in heaven for about half an hour, and there are the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. Another angel stood at the altar, holding a golden censer, and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense ascended from the angel's hand with the prayers of the saints before God. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth, and there were peals of thunder and sounds, and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.[²⁷]
There was hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was thrown to the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.[²⁸]
Something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood, and a third of the creatures which were in the sea and had life, died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.[²⁹]
A great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of waters. The star is named Wormwood, and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.[³⁰]
A third of the sun, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way.[³¹]
A star from heaven which had fallen to the earth, and the key to the shaft of the abyss was given to him. He opened the shaft of the abyss, and smoke ascended out of the shaft like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened from the smoke of the shaft. Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power. They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a person. And in those days people will seek death and will not find it, they will long to die, and death will flee from them![³²]
A voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind. The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million, I heard the number of them. The riders had breastplates the color of fire, of hyacinth, and of brimstone, and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire and smoke and brimstone. A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire, the smoke, and the brimstone which came out of their mouths. For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.[³³]
There were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever." And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, "We give You thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign. And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth." And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened, and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.[³⁴]
